Proud moments for whole nation as Miss India crowned Miss World 2017 after a long wait of 17 years. Manushi Chhillar gave Indian a reason to celebrate and shifted the focus back to India in beauty pageant. This victory has placed India at top of the list of countries winning maximum number of Miss World crowns (6), tying it with Venezuela.
Manushi impressed judges with her beauty and talent .Her brilliant response to the finale question in beauty pageant, about what should be highest paid job in this world, has impressed me to write this article.
She talked about mother as most contributing person in one’s life. Considering the amount of sacrifices a mother is making in one’s life should be paid with highest salary in terms of love and respect.
As an HR, I would never prefer to take offence of calling motherhood a JOB.
In a job, an employer pays for services an employee agrees to perform. But all services and performance of duties by a mother for her child are done on voluntarily basis. And there is a boss to whom the employee reports. To whom should a mother report?
There is no predefined KRA for a mother. But still there are a lot of things which keeps a mother busy all day.
An employee always expects salary and recognition for their work and responsibilities but mother fulfills all her responsibilities without any salary (monetary) or recognition.
Calling motherhood “the hardest job in the world” misses the point completely because having and raising children is not a “job.” No one will deny that there is exhaustion, fear and tedium. Raising a family is hard work, but so is every other meaningful aspect of our careers and lives.
Even the highest salary figures which one could think can justify the amount of sacrifices and efforts, a mother put to inculcate good values and qualities which brought her child the ability to achieve success in various aspects of life. But we can reward her selfless efforts and sacrifices for years by giving love and respects as a little paid off.
This beautiful girl from Haryana, had given significant credit to her mother, represent her inner beauty of heart and purity of her thoughts.
